The family company Nordmann, Rassmann & Co. was founded in 1912 by Eduard Nordmann and Fritz Rassmann in Hamburg as an international natural rubber trading company. In 1950, the company expanded into synthetic rubber and plastics, marking the birth of the company’s present core business of chemicals distribution. Over the following years Georg Nordmann, Eduard Nordmann’s nephew and sole owner of NRC after 1940, concentrated on trading in chemicals and providing technical application consultancy services. Under his management, the company grew to become a competent, dependable partner for raw materials producers and the processing industry.
In April 1984, Georg Nordmann handed over the business to his sons, Edgar E. and Carsten Nordmann, who joined the executive team in 1970 and 1977 respectively.
NRC’s expansion strategy was crowned by overwhelming success: Subsidiaries were founded, international alliances formed and activities for chemical specialities were set up and expanded in Austria, Central and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia as well as Switzerland. NRC grew steadily to become a modern enterprise which today controls a world-wide information network.
Advanced logistics solutions based on an intelligent infrastructure, state-of-the-art IT systems and future-oriented software solutions, and – last but certainly not least – our highly skilled and competent employees make NRC the innovative and service-oriented enterprise it is today. |
